During lunch, Laila Rivera and I, Kayla Taylor, went around to different tables and asked 92 high school students in grades 9-12 what their favorite fast food place is. Students were able to choose between Chick-fil-a, Burger King, Chipotle, McDonald’s, Sheetz, Dunkin Donuts, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Hot Head Burritos, Taco Bell, Raising Canes, Dunkin, CoreLife, Popeyes, and Arby’s. Most people were very quick and positive with their answer, but some had to choose between a few since they have more than one favorite. The results were the following: Chick-fil-a (37), Chipotle (11), Burger King (3), McDonalds (4), Sheets (2), KFC (2), Hot Head Burritos (5), Taco Bell (8), Raising Cane's (9), Dunkin (2), Core Life (1), Popeyes (1), and Arby’s (1). Laila and I were not surprised by these results at all, since we both love Chick-fil-a, and so do a lot of our friends and family.
This got me thinking, WHY do so many people love Chick-fil-a? Maybe it is because of the french fries, or maybe the chicken. There are a lot of options at Chick-fil-a so it would be hard to tell. Maybe they like it so much because it doesn’t cost as much as some of the other options, or maybe they love their famous sauce. Personally, I believe that Raising Canes is better than Chick fil a. I love both Chick-Fil-A’s and Raising Cane’s sauce and french fries, those are my favorite things about them. I also love their chicken nuggets. Nearly everyone has eaten at Chick-fil-a and there is no doubt that it is a popular favorite, especially among teenagers. However, I am surprised Canes did not get more votes. But then again, how many people have never been to Canes to know what they are missing? Canes’ food is not fried in advance and left to sit for hours in the kitchen unlike a lot of food places. This is why they don't have that greasy taste that other fast-food chains' chicken tenders have. It has a freshly fried taste that is hard to find elsewhere which also explains why so many people love it. Chick-fil-a has more options than Canes and may be more popular, but Canes is definitely worth checking out. Both Chick-Fil-A and Raising Canes are very good fast food places.
