2022’s Star Quarterback: Vinny Ballone

The Lowellville Rockets have had an impressive start to the 2022-2023 football season. Vinny Ballone, the Rockets starting quarterback, has come into the spotlight this year through his playmaking, field vision, football IQ, and overall athleticism. Let’s take a dive into what got him started, how his current season is going, and where he’s headed. This is the Lowellville Rockets star quarterback, Vinny Ballone.

Vinny started playing football at a young age, being inspired by his brothers who had been part of the Lowellville sports program preceding him. He said he is glad that he has kept up with football all this time and it is his favorite sport. When asked about how he feels about the current season he said he feels really good about where the team is headed, with a 8-0 record so far this season. There aren’t any games coming up that make him particularly worried, “We’re a really good team, I like our team, our entire staff, our team's offense, defense, everything.” He thinks that the Rockets defense has greatly improved since last year, stating, “We’re really stopping teams this year, not letting up a lot of points, like last year.”

As the quarterback Vinny expects his teammates to perform their best; he wants them to work as hard as they can to help lead Lowellville to victory. When it comes to chemistry with other players Vinny thinks he works best with his receivers. because he said they’ve been throwing the ball a lot for the past few years. He would like to go undefeated to win the league and advance far into the playoffs.

When asked about his plans after high school Vinny admitted that he is not quite sure what the future holds. He doesn’t know exactly what he wants to do or where he wants to go, and he described the future as scary. Vinny encourages parents, teammates, and spectators, “Come watch us, come support us, we like all the support we can get.”
