Crowning of the Queen

Lowellville High School has many unique traditions during their Homecoming week celebrations. One of these traditions is the Homecoming parade prior to the football game on Friday night. The parade begins at city hall led by the police, fire trucks, and an ambulance. The procession continues with the 2022 Homecoming Court, which consists of juniors Sophia Yon, Isabella Willrich, Mia Mangine, Natalie Parry, and Sophia Alfano, in the cars which they got to decorate themselves or with help from family. Following in the parade processions are the cheerleaders and the high school marching band.

Once the parade makes it to Paul Menichini Field, the female court members and their father or guardian, get out of the decorated cars and move to the golf carts which are also decorated, provided by Bedford Trails. The golf carts are driven around the track as the court is being announced. After they go around the track, the football game starts. The court then sits in the stands waiting to gather for halftime, where they start to announce the court to state who the 2022 homecoming queen will be. At halftime, the court enters the field and that is when the queen will be announced. The parade going through town is a way for Lowellville Homecoming Court to celebrate with the community. This has been a tradition in Lowellville for many years that is still ongoing.
