The Gift of Giving

A Giving Tree is a Christmas tree that is decorated with different tags that represent underprivileged children from your local area. Each tag states the age, gender, clothing sizes, and interests of the child. The Lowellville National Honor Society has been participating in this community service project annually. The tree is placed in the cafetorium by NHS members in mid-November. Students and staff interested in participating are encouraged to select a tag and purchase a gift for the child that they choose. Once they have purchased the gift, they will return it to the tree.

This act of kindness helps local families in need. Without the giving tree, there would be some families who would be unable to provide their children with gifts. The giving tree helps give children and their families the Christmas that they deserve, even though they may be going through some rough times in their life. It is a well known organization that helps our local families in need and they are always looking for ways to give back.

Over 100 children will receive gifts this year thanks to generous donations.Next time you see a Giving Tree, think about participating in this wonderful cause and to spread holiday cheer!
