Peter Gene Bayot Hernandez, known professionally as Bruno Mars is a pop star sensation originally from Waikiki, Hawaii. He first started playing music when he was only four years old. He started by performing with his family’s band called the Love Notes and he became known in Hawaii for his impersonation of Elvis Presley. While growing up he learned how to play the piano, bass, drum, and guitar. Bruno’s single hit, “Grenade”, was his third single hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100 Charts. He has three studio albums, Doo-Wops & Hooligans, Unorthodox Jukebox, 24K Magic, one collaborative studio album, An Evening with Silk Sonic, one EP, 32 singles, seven as a featured artist, and four promotional singles. Bruno is popular for his flashy stage performances and his flashy music.

Lowellville High School students took a survey about their favorite Bruno Mars songs. I thought that the song “Talking to the Moon” was going to win, but soon after “Locked Out of Heaven” took over and was the final winner. These songs are some of his most popular songs because people find them so relatable. “Locked Out of Heaven” was released in 2012. The meaning behind the song was about being in love and feeling like you're in heaven, but he hasn’t had love in a long time and that’s how “Locked Out of Heaven” was created. I grew up listening to Bruno’s music and have always loved his songs. It was quite the battle between the two but I’m very happy with the final result. Bruno Mars will be going on tour on May 20, 2023 during the Preakness Stakes at Pimlico Race Course located in Baltimore, Maryland.
