Pony League Baseball is an Ohio league in which 13 to 15 year olds play baseball. The league was created to prepare younger kids to get ready for their high school careers. This year, the Lowellville Pony Baseball team is looking to win almost all their games and go further in the playoffs than ever before.
The Lowellville Pony League has had some trouble trying to get back on track after Covid. However, last year’s season ended in a thrilling game in the second round of the playoffs. This game ended 13 to 12 against Boardman, with the Rockets losing in the last inning. The game showed how much potential the team had. The people who are returning include Tyler Tuscano, Reeve Donatelli, Kaden Primous, Anthony Kacir, Jordan Weatherby, Kasen Smith, Brody Daniels, and Cole Wildes. New players including Anthony Tuscano, Luka Mastronikolas, Nicholas Scott, Peter Prato, Evan Conrad, and Duane Hill will be making their Pony League debut.
Older students returning to the league are especially looking forward to this season. They believe that they can change the whole outcome of the season when they return because they have a lot to offer, including high school experience and two extra years of pony experience.
“You guys are looking incredible, and I can’t wait to have you back, ” says head coach Gary Smith. The coaches, and the overall team, think that the Lowellville Pony team will be unstoppable.
“ I can’t wait to get back because we are not going to lose a game when we return,” says Tyler. The high school baseball season is over, which ended in the second round of the playoffs to Mathews high school in a thrilling game, 7 to 5. The freshmen are ready to get back to pony and start making a difference on the team.
