The Lady Rockets went to the district semi-finals with an 11-14 record in the 2021-2022 season. Their best game last year was in the tournament against Badger with a win of 60-55 in double overtime. The team is ready to beat their record from last year and make it further in the tournament. They have four returning starters: Savannah Procick, Francesca Lellio, Lily Vari-Coppola and Averi Shumaker. With the Rockets only having 11 girls on the roster it is very important that everyone stays healthy.

Senior basketball star player, Savannah Procick, is very proud of how we ended our season last year because a lot of people did not expect us to go as far as we did. Savannah states, “We made it further than any of us would have thought, and I can’t wait for this season. I am very excited!” Procick, as well as the rest of the team, put in the work during the summer with open gyms, summer league games, and going to basketball camps. Procick believes that we already have a better bond and relationship that we did last year which will help us win games. “We have a great group of Seniors this year that everyone is more comfortable with and we just communicate a lot better than in the past.”

Coach Lisa Modelski is also ready for this season to get started and see what the Lady Rockets can do this year. “I think expectations are very high for our Senior leaders especially. I am very excited to see how we progress as the season goes on because we have a lot of talent from top to bottom. I am very excited to see these girls get going. Our Seniors leaders have been together for so long and have played basketball with each other since elementary school which helps create a strong bond.”

Senior players, Savannah Procick and Lily Vari-Coppola, are both very excited to play against Western Reserve this year. We have played against the same girls for years now and we are looking to finally beat them. Those games will take place Thursday, December 15th at 6:15pm at Lowellville High School and Thursday, January 12th at 6:15pm at Western Reserve High School.

Our Lady Rockets appreciate any and all of the support they get. This year is going to be full of important and eventful games. Come out to support the Lady Rockets as they take on the Bristol Panthers today at Bristol High School. We would like continuous support for the season and be sure to cheer on our senior Lady Rockets in their final hurrah as they take on the league.
