Mrs. Dent is Happy to be Back in Lowellville

Meet Mrs. Dent! Mrs. Dent is a new member of The Lowellville High School staff for the 2022-23 school year. Mrs. Dent decided to teach at Lowellville because when she went to school here she always loved it. She was really involved with activities during high school and during her first year of college all she wanted was to return to Lowellville. She graduated high school from Lowellville in 2018 and went on to study education at Youngstown State University. She graduated from YSU in 2021 and began her teaching career in Lowellville Schools. Mrs. Dent teaches American government, financial literacy, global studies, you and the law, and psychology. While American government is an eleventh grade high school required course, her other courses are electives for eleventh and twelve graders. Some of these electives such as you and the law and global studies are unique electives that students enjoy taking.

In addition to teaching, Mrs. Dent is involved in many extracurriculars here at Lowellville. She coaches 8th grade volleyball. As the junior class advisor she has helped set up for homecoming and she will be busy setting up for prom later in the school year.

Her favorite part about teaching is when students don't understand something she is able to explain it to them and help it make sense. She is really looking forward to creating a mock trial with her students this year. She wants her students to know that she hopes for a great school year. “I hope we have a fun school year and we learn a lot!”
