Mrs. Reamer’s Cafe on Wheels

In Lowellville Schools, if you hear a bell ringing in the hallways you know you're in for a treat. When it's Friday and teachers hear a knock on the door, they know it’s Mrs. Reamer’s coffee cart. What exactly is this cart that all the staff is talking about? Keep reading to find out.

In a recent interview with Mrs. Reamer, she explained all about the coffee cart. Mrs. Reamer has been teaching high school math courses in Lowellville for nine years. The coffee cart started back in May of last school year during Teacher Appreciation Week. The students in the National Honors Society wanted to do something special for their teachers. They heard of other schools in the area doing something similar and thought a coffee cart was something fun they could do. The cart holds coffee, tea, different kinds of creamers, and Mrs. Reamer's homemade cookies. The NHS students started pushing the cart around the halls during their study halls and free periods, stopping at every teacher’s door to offer coffee, tea, and treats.

The cart was a hit during Teacher Appreciation Week. There was lots of fantastic feedback from staff and requests to keep the cart running. Mrs. Reamer thought it was a good way to bring all the teachers from both ends of the school together, and to have something for staff to look forward to during the end of the week.

Mrs. DeLuca said,” It’s something I look forward to on Fridays. I enjoy the variety of creamers and I look forward to seeing what type of cookie Mrs. Reamer makes each week. They are delicious.”

Mrs. Mercure added, “It’s just a bright thing to see on Fridays and look forward to at the end of the week. The teachers really appreciate everything Mrs.Reamer does. It’s also nice to see the kids.”
