Teachers' Dream Jobs

As we know, teachers love their jobs. They chose to study education for a reason, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have a dream job in mind. Curiosity led me to find out more about our high school teachers and what they would be doing if they weren’t teaching.

Mr. Van Kirk would be an architect because he loves to design and figure out the geometry of a building. He started college for architecture, but had to change his path after being told no by his dad.

Mrs. Kerpsack dreams of being a flight attendant because she loves to travel, socialize, and meet new people. This is something she has wanted to do since she was little when she flew on an airplane for the first time.

Mr. Olson says he would be a full time basketball coach, which is no surprise there because everyone knows how much he loves basketball. He says teaching is his passion. Coaching is like teaching with basketball having teachable moments not just about the game but life lessons too. He also just loves the game of basketball.

Mr. Dougherty wants to be a CIA agent because he thinks it would be a very challenging and interesting way to support your country and make a living. He would also love to be an equipment manager again. In the past, he was one for the San Francisco 49ers. Mrs. Mercure wants to be an astronaut because she loves space and thinks space is just so cool.

Mrs. Direnzo-Olson and Mrs. DeLuca have a similar passion for writing. When asked about her dream job, Mrs. Direnzo-Olson said she has many, but one of them is to be an author of children’s books. Mrs. Deluca wants to be a writer and write best selling novels. She has wanted to do this ever since she was little and hopes to write a novel someday.

Lastly, Mrs. Walski wants to work with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources because she likes being outside in nature, and camping. She also loves exploring with her children and extended family. She feels there are always fun things to see and learn about in nature. Teachers might have dream jobs, but they love what they do and love the kids they teach.
