Many kids, and maybe adults, wish for snow days when winter rolls around. Waking up on a weekday and discovering you do not have school is a feeling like no other. Some consider snow days to be the best part of the winter season. Although there are no true ways to make snow days happen ourselves, many kids have a few tricks up their sleeves that they hope will influence a day off. Here are 10 of the most popular:
Sleep with a spoon under your pillow
Flush ice cubes down the toilet (one per inch of snow you would like)
Wear your pajamas inside out and backward
Put a white crayon on the windowsill
Yell “SNOW DAY” into your freezer
Eat ice cream for dinner
Drink root beer with a straw
Wear a colored sock on your left foot, but not your right
Brush your teeth with your non-dominant hand
Run around the dining table 5 times
You could also look up “snow day calculator” on Google. You enter your type of school, zip code, and how many snow days you have already had this year and it determines your chances of a day off. Although these tricks may seem a little outlandish, they are a fun way to get you excited for a chance of a snow day. Do you believe in any of these superstitions?
