Introducing Our New Elementary Intervention Specialists

Youngstown State University graduates Emily Lisowski and Alyssa Streb have become a part of Lowellville’s staff this year. Ms. Lisowski is currently our reading intervention specialist for grades 1-6, while Mrs. Streb is our math intervention specialist.

Ms. Lisowski graduated from Boardman High School, where she decided she would like to teach at a smaller school. She explained how smaller schools would give her more time to get to know students one-on-one. This is currently her second full year teaching in education. Ms. Lisowski described her typical day as “Never a dull moment.” Her license currently allows her to teach Kindergarten-3rd grade, but enjoys working with all grades to keep it exciting. She currently works with grades 1-6 in the classroom and small group

In Ms. Lisowski’s free time she enjoys going to concerts, traveling, and dancing. She had previous experience working with children because she was a dance teacher for five years at Stage Left Dance Dance and Theater Company in Canfield. She explained that this inspired her to go into teaching. Her favorite artist to listen to is Harry Styles.

Mrs. Streb has been working in education for six years. She decided to go into education for the children and for her love of helping others. Mrs. Streb said she enjoys working in education because she loves seeing the kids' smiles everyday. She enjoys teaching math and science with any grade.

Mrs. Streb loves being in Lowellville and was excited to become a part of the staff. She explained that ever since her student teaching here with Mrs. Matisi, she always knew she was going to be a Rocket again someday. When she’s not teaching, Mrs. Streb enjoys spending time with her family and going out with her friends.
