David Goggins is a runner and motivational speaker. He is known for running marathons and other absurdly long distances in a short amount of time. He follows a strict diet and workout schedule. He has made appearances on different podcasts and shows where he shares stories of crazy things he has done and how he conducts himself in his everyday life.
His daily routine and diet are very strict and important to his success. In the morning he wakes up at 4:30 a.m., takes a shower, runs 10-15 miles, and for his breakfast he eats and drinks eggs and coffee. He then rides his bike 25 miles to work. At lunchtime he runs 5-8 miles and eats turkey, eggs, salad, and avocados. After work he bikes 25 miles back home then he runs 2-5 miles. For dinner he eats pork and veggies. He uses protein and vitamin supplements to support his healthy lifestyle. Goggins thinks that being overweight doesn’t stop you from being in shape. I don’t think anyone would be up to the challenge of following his routine everyday. I don't know how he follows his own workout routine.
David Goggins has many inspiring quotes. “Everyone fails sometimes and life isn’t supposed to be fair, much less bend to your every whim.” or “Don’t stop when you're tired. Stop when you’re done.” These quotes can be used as motivation for anyone, whether you are trying to get through a tough workout or motivate yourself to get through a hard day at work. These quotes can be seen in gyms, used by coaches or advisors, or to simply motivate friends to accomplish their goals. and I’ve used these quotes to motivate my friends to finish their sets. Perhaps Goggins most famous quote is, “They don’t know me son!” He said this when he was working out on a bench press and giving all of his effort. People saw this video and used the quote as motivation to keep going and keep working their hardest. This quote means you have the potential to overcome anything that comes in your way.
He has some crazy feats and stories that he’s told on different podcasts such as “The Joe Rogan Experience'', “The Rich Roll Podcast,” and his own podcast called “The EntreLeadership Podcast.” One of 16 of his many crazy feats is he ran 101 miles in 18 hours and 56 minutes. Another one is he ran 205 miles in 39 hours NON-STOP. He also has the record for most pull-ups in 17 hours with 4,030. According to the IAVA Website Goggins is also recognized to be the only member of the U.S. Armed Forces to complete SEAL Training including two hell weeks (Hell Weeks consist of cold, wet, and brutally difficult operational training on less than four hours of sleep). But the craziest and the most motivational story is his transformation from being obese, not being able to run a quarter of a mile- to being able to run over 205 miles and completing NAVY SEAL training.
If this man can go from being obese and completely out of shape to completing NAVY SEAL training and being one of the most motivational human beings on this planet then anyone can do anything. This man shows that if there is an opportunity to get better, always take it even if you have to go through the things you hate most. I hope this man and article can motivate you to be your best self. I chose to write about David Goggins because he puts his mind to do something and does it with no excuses. He inspires me to keep pushing and keep working toward the goals that I have set.
