As the year is getting closer and closer to the end, many seniors can’t help but to think about what the future holds for them. As seniors prepare to graduate this week, they are looking back on their high school years and thinking about all the fun memories they’ve created and the lessons they learned.
When asked about their favorite school memories, seniors shared memories of games they won, classes they took, friends they made for life, and fun memories that will last a lifetime. Alex Modelski’s favorite memory was on the football field. He stated, “Getting to come back out for football one more time after having 2 knee surgeries. Winning the league and going undefeated in the regular season.”
Frankie Lellio stated, “Last year during basketball beating Badger in the sectional finals surprised everyone because we were the underdogs and everyone expected us to lose and the game went into double overtime.”
Sidney Price said, “My favorite memory probably has to be when I almost caught my brownie on fire in Mr. Hunt's microwave. The entire downstairs hallway smelled like something was on fire and let's just say there were running jokes about me trying to use a microwave.”
Graduating high school is something that kids wait their entire life for. It means freedom. It means happiness. It means the beginning of adulthood. Some seniors shared with me what graduation means to them. Sidney Price said, “It means that it’s a new beginning and shows success.”
Laila Mccaughtry said, “Graduating school to me means that I am starting a new chapter in my life and that I get to start working towards my future.”
Averi Shumaker said, “It means that I get to seek out new opportunities and experience new things.”
Evan Alfano said, “It means that I am starting a new chapter and a new beginning of my life.”
Knowing that many of the underclassmen look up to the seniors, the seniors had words of wisdom for the underclassmen as they continue their high school journey. Alex Modelski expressed, “high school goes by so quickly so take it in while you can.”
Averi Shumaker said, “You have your whole life ahead of you so do not stress and work hard, you will find what you desire.”
Sidney Price said, “Do the most you can during high school because you’ll never get this chance back.”
Anthony Lucente said, “Being out in the real world being an adult is going to be challenging but we all do great things in life.”
Laila Mccaughtry said, “Do what is going to make you happy. Don't do something just to please others.”
Aiden Debeaulieu said, “It goes fast so enjoy every moment.”
Evan Alfano stated, “To hang in there and stick it out because it will all pay off in the end.”
Being able to graduate school will be a great moment for these seniors as they are beginning a new chapter of life as they enter college and start adult life. Thank you and congratulations to the class of 2023 for everything they have done! Best of luck to all the seniors as they look forward to graduating and seeing what the future holds for them!
