Mrs. Parry is our K-12 principal who became the principal of Lowellville Local Schools in the 2020-2021 school year. Mrs. Parry knew since she was a little girl that she wanted to be a teacher. “I used to play school. I had a blackboard in my room, had pretend emails, and would wear my mother’s heels so they could click on the floor. I have always loved school.” Mrs Parry thinks that if she didn’t go into education she would be something in the medical field, probably a nurse. However, her love for education led her to be a language arts teacher for 13 years.
About halfway through her teaching career, Mrs. Parry realized she wanted to become a principal. Mrs. Parry started her career as a principal at a kindergarten building, then a middle school assistant principal, and eventually became a high school principal at Niles City Schools before coming to Lowellville. As a principal she never knows what to expect or what the day will look like. “You never know what’s going to pop up, it’s exciting,” Mrs. Parry said. Being a principal is a very busy job. She always has meetings or something going on in the building. When Mrs. Parry gets some time to relax, she likes to read. She reads a variety of genres, currently Mrs. Parry is reading a thriller The Simple Truth by David Baldacci.
