Netflix has released a new mystery film, The Glass Onion. It is a sequel to the 2019 movie, Knives Out, a mystery film that was written and co-produced by Rian Johnson. Knives Out follows detective Benoit Blanc as he investigates the death of a very wealthy man named Harlan Thrombey. Throughout the movie, you learn what really happened to Harlan. It was very interesting and full of plot twists. I can see why many people liked the movie.
The Glass Onion is a very fascinating movie. This movie is set during the Covid-19 pandemic which really makes the movie seem even more realistic. The movie begins with Miles Bron, billionaire co-founder of technology company Alpha, sending out invitations for a murder mystery themed weekend which will be held on his private island, named The Glass Onion. He invited his life-long friends: Claire Debella, Birdie Jay, Duke Cody, and Cassandra “Andi” Brand. They travel to the island with Birdie's assistant Peg, and Duke's girlfriend, Whiskey. Famous detective Benoit Blanc joins them; although Bron is unsure who invited Blanc, he allows him to stay the weekend and take part in the festivities. This movie takes an unexpected twist and it will leave viewers wanting more.
This movie is an action packed mystery that mystery lovers will love. With so many plot twists and turns views really need to pay close attention to the plot so they don’t miss a thing. With some top notch actors such as Daniel Craig, Ed Norton, Kate Hudson, and Jessica Henwick the acting is incredible and the characters believable. There are humourous undertones, interesting storylines, with characters viewers can love or love to hate. However, the movie had so much going on, at times it was confusing, and again, viewers really need to pay attention or they could easily miss something. The surprising ending will have viewers wanting to watch the movie again.
