On Friday, March 24, 2023, the junior high students in 7th and 8th grade had their annual Spring Fling. The dance was established last year when the 8th grade Student Council proposed the idea of having a Junior High Dance to Mrs. Parry and Mr. Sammartino. The Spring Fling was created because the elementary and high school students have a dance, but the junior high school kids did not have a dance. Junior high students were excited for this year’s Spring Fling and had a great time. Many students chose to dress up for the occasion, while others chose to dress casually.
Some of the highlights of the night included fun picture props, and amazing refreshments, such as soda, and cookies. Mr. Nick Kerpsack, Mrs. Kerpsack’s husband, was the DJ for the night. He really got the crowd on their feet. Kasin Smith and Eliza Primous were some of the best dancers in the group. Jeffery Dubos also was a sight to see on the dance floor when asked to get sturdy. Some of the songs which really got the crowd going, include “Golden Hour,” by JVKE, “Our Song,” by Taylor Swift, and many of the line dances that were played, such as “Cupid Shuffle,” by Cupid, and “Cha Cha Slide,” by Mr. C The Slide Man.
Many 8th graders went bowling at Camelot Lanes after the dance including Kasen Smith, Eliza Primous, Samantha Shumaker, a The highlights of the after party included many kids hitting the jackpot on a couple of the arcade games that night. Some of the best bowlers were Anthony Kacir, Kasen Smith, and Giana Palumbo. The night ended with Kasen coming on top and winning the bowling game.
