National Peanut Butter Lover’s Day

March 1, 2023 is nationally known as Peanut Butter Lover’s Day. If you love peanut butter then this is the day for you. There are tons of people who love peanut butter and get very passionate about peanut butter. After speaking with some of our student body, you can really see how picky some people are about their peanut butter. Some students are very specific with their responses while some others just gave their general opinion of peanut butter. There are many different factors when it comes to picking the right peanut butter and finding the one you love. It could be creamy, crunchy, smooth, Jif, Skippy, the options are endless.

Senior Evan Alfano is extremely specific when it comes to his peanut butter. His favorite is Jif Natural creamy peanut butter. He likes creamy because he doesn’t like any crunch in his peanut butter. He also really enjoys just eating plain peanut butter right off the spoon. He was so excited when he found out that there was a national holiday for people like him who love peanut butter.

I also had the pleasure to interview students, Maddie Esposito and Laila Rivera about how much they like peanut butter. Maddie tends to enjoy creamy peanut butter, but she really doesn’t care; she's just “not a fan of crunch in her sandwich.” She highly enjoys the Jif brand because according to her, “It’s just better!” Maddie believes that the holiday is great but since pickles get a parade she thinks peanut butter should too.

Laila says that she prefers the texture of smooth peanut butter. She too enjoys the Jif brand of peanut butter because it is one of the best known brands. Laila enjoys that there has been a holiday and thinks that every condiment deserves a holiday. All three of the above students enjoy eating peanut butter right out of the jar with a spoon. Some other favorite snacks with peanut butter include: apples, crackers, sandwiches, granola bars and Reese’s peanut butter cups.

This is a fun little holiday for those out there who like peanut butter on almost everything. There are holidays for other condiments out there and if there isn’t, there should be! These funny little holidays bring so much joy to some peoples' days. We hope all of you had a great National Peanut Butter Lover’s Day!
